About

So what’s “Riding Life Waves” all about?

We all go through shit, some good, some bad, and some more than others. But we all don’t all go through and deal with it in the same way.

Some people just don’t seem phased by anything, they get back up, dust themselves off and carry on as though nothing happened, while others can can take days, weeks, months and even years to get themselves back on track with their lives.

Why is that?

Good question. And not a simple one to answer.
We all deal with things differently and we’ve all had different lives and been through different situations that have made us who we are today.

This could be from our childhood, parents, school, friends, lovers, partners, children, careers, business… the list goes on and on. All this stuff we’ve been through and witnessed others going through has some kind of impact on who we are today and how we deal with things.

We can’t change our past

But maybe we can use our past, or our understanding of our past to change our future for the better?

If you find you struggle with stuff or always seem to have problems, and those problems easily get you down, then maybe you need to change your perception of the problem, or apparent problem?

One way I’ve found in recent years that has helped me through all kinds of situations is the realisation that EVERYTHING, yes EVERYTHING happens in cycles, or waves. and nothing, absolutely NOTHING is permanent.

This realization came about through all kinds of material I’ve read, watched, and listened to over the years. It’s not a new idea or way of thinking, but it gave me the spark I needed. Once I realized this, that everything happens in cycles or waves, I started to look at everything that’s happened to me over my life, and guess what I found? It’s absolutely true! That nothing lasts. At some point, everything comes to an end once its cycle is complete.

Like waves in the ocean

Ever stood at the seaside and just watched the waves come rolling in, washing up on the beach and then disappearing into the next one? Have you ever looked further out to sea and watched the waves as they begin to form? After a while, you start to notice that every now and then, a larger wave will begin to form.

Surfers read the waves

I’m not going to go too deep into this, but you’ll notice surfers group together in certain places while waiting for the “one” because they can read the ocean. They’ll first stand on the shore and watch the ocean to see where the best spot to catch the waves is because there are a few factors involved that create the formation of the wave. This isn’t equal all across the beach.

So surfers know the best place to catch the waves, and also the places to avoid, either because the waves don’t develop in that zone, or there are dangers either under the water or in the tide. By taking the time to first observe the ocean and find the best spot, they have the best chance of catching some good waves and avoiding the dangers.

Now I’m no surfer, but I’ve learned the hard way to ride life waves, I’ve had some fantastic life waves come my way, and also been wiped out by many too! But since I learned to ride and accept them, life has got so much better!

So now I’m sharing what I and others have learned incase you, yes you reading this now, want to learn to Ride Life Waves!

Enjoy.
